Part 7 - Integration with HR plan

Checklist

  • Following the review, demographic data and trends and their implications are assessed.
  • Learning needs are pulled from Narrative Summaries.
  • Results are factored into the talent management process.
  • Business reporting incorporates the results of the senior executive performance agreements (PAs) into the Departmental Performance Report.
  • Business and HR strategies are identified and incorporated into the Integrated HR Plan for the next performance cycle.

Discussion

The information derived from the review mechanism supports integrated business and HR planning. As a best practice, some departments use the review mechanism to ensure the Integrated HR Plan takes account of:

  • talent management and succession planning;
  • career progression;
  • learning and development needs (including operational needs and those pertaining to Key Leadership Competencies including values and ethics);
  • organization-wide official languages requirements;
  • organization-wide employment equity requirements;
  • awards and recognition;
