Human Resources Management

Working under the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA), the Public Service Modernization Act (PSMA) and other legislation, we have developed resources for deputy heads, executives, managers and employees that improve human resources management and services to Canadians.

Today, the idea of employment policy as a set of restrictive rules has given way to a new focus. It’s one that provides managers with guidelines and frameworks, along with other resources such as performance management programs, to carry out their expanded responsibilities for managing people.

The Office of the Chief Human Resources Officer is the lead for the people component of the Management Accountability Framework (PCMAF), with responsibility for workplace and workforce issues. And, with an eye on the future, we provide information on human resources planning.
