Action Plan

In 2000, petroleum hydrocarbon contaminated soil was identified at the health centre: the aboveground storage tank at the health clinic, and the aboveground storage tank at the nurse's residence. Soil remediation was carried out in 2003. Follow-up sampling in 2005 indicate that less than 5 cubic metres of contaminated oil remained at the nurse's residence. An environmental site assessment conducted in February 2007 confirmed four areas of petroleum hydrocarbon soil contamination: at the aboveground storage tank at the health clinic, at the aboveground storage tank at the generator shed, at the trailer residence, and to the east of the trailer residence. Remediation was completed in the four areas that were impacted and a total of 2 cubic metres of soil was removed and placed in a biocell in the community. Site remediated.
