Expenses:

Total expenses for the RCMP were $4,554 million in 2008-2009. The majority of the expenses, $2,667 million or 59%, were related to improving the health and safety of Canadian families and their communities through Community, Contract and Aboriginal Policing; 18% or $812 million were spent on activities related to Federal and International Operations.

Revenues:

The RCMP’s total revenues for 2008-2009 amounted to $1,547 million, compared to $1,443 million in 2007-2008. This represents an increase of $104 million (7.2%). Most of the RCMP’s revenue was derived from the program activity related to improving the health and safety of Canadians families and their communities through Community, Contract and Aboriginal Policing.

Assets and Liabilities:

Total assets were $1,890 million at the end of 2008-2009, an increase of $114 million (6.4%) over the previous year’s total assets of $1,776 million. Tangible capital assets accounts for $1,267 million (67%), accounts receivable $571 million (30%), and inventory $52 million (3%).

Total liabilities were $13,713 million at the end of 2008-2009, an increase of $524 million (4%) over the previous year’s total liabilities of $13,189 million. RCMP Pension accounts were at $12,372 million (90%) representing the largest portion of the total liabilities.
