Program Activity 1.5 – Disease and Injury Prevention and Mitigation

Regular business activities and planning highlights for Program Activity 1.5, Disease and Injury Prevention and Mitigation, are influenced by several risk areas identified in the 2011 Corporate Risk Profile. The risks inherent in Aboriginal and northern health inequalities, infectious disease, chronic disease, and food-borne illness, along with the opportunity to enhance emergency preparedness and response all contribute to the context in which the Agency pursues the following expected result: diseases and injury in Canada are prevented and mitigated. Realizing this Agency-level outcome contributes to the Government of Canada outcome of Healthy Canadians.
