Program Activity 1.2 – Surveillance and Population Health Assessment

Regular business activities and planning highlights for Program Activity 1.2, Surveillance and Population Health Assessment, are influenced by several risk areas identified in the 2011 Corporate Risk Profile. The ability of PHAC to effectively address the risk areas of infectious disease, population mobility and migration, food-borne illness, chronic disease, and emergency preparedness and response is directly related to achieving the expected results of: policy and decision-makers and other public health actors have health surveillance information they need to carry out their public health functions; and Canadians, policy and decision makers and public health partners have information on the health of the population and conditions of population health significance they require to make public health decisions. Realizing these Agency-level outcomes contributes to the Government of Canada outcome of Healthy Canadians.
