Green Procurement

1. How is your department planning to meet the objectives of the Policy on Green Procurement?
  Our department has already begun meeting the objectives by:
  • Purchasing recycled paper;
  • Leasing energy efficient photocopier machines;
  • Using surplus assets when possible instead of purchasing new assets;
  • Placing environmental conditions on suppliers for delivery of goods and or services - currently 20% and expected to increase to 50% in 2008-09 (invoices & e-delivery).
Our department plans to further meet objectives in 2008-09 by:
  • e-purchasing;
  • Bulk purchasing for economies of scale.
2. Has your department established green procurement targets?
