Long description for image: Figure 7. Verify Unencumbered Balance (Subprocess 3.2.4) – Level 3 Process Flow

This figure is a process flow diagram comprising activities, connectors, inputs/outputs, and decisions.

The diagram depicts the Level 3 process flow for Verify Unencumbered Balance (Subprocess 3.2.4), which is launched by a connector from either Manage Travel Requests (Subprocess 3.2.3) or Manage Blanket Travel Authority (Subprocess 3.2.2). Both scenarios trigger Activity 3.2.4.1 – Determine Unencumbered Balance, which results in a decision titled “Sufficient unencumbered balance?” The “Yes” flow advances to Activity 3.2.4.2 – Provide Authorization (FAA, section 32), followed by a connector to Manage Commitment (Subprocess 3.2.5).

The “No” flow for the decision “Sufficient unencumbered balance?” proceeds to a subsequent decision titled “Obtain funding elsewhere?” where the “Yes” flow has a connector to Manage Forecasting and Budget Review (Business Process 1.2) and the “No” flow ends both the Verify Unencumbered Balance subprocess and the Manage Travel business process.

Note A: Once both Manage Travel Requests (Subprocess 3.2.3) and Manage Commitment (Subprocess 3.2.5) have been completed, authorization is provided pursuant to section 32 of the FAA.
