Long description for image: Figure 2: Interactions that take place to achieve coordinated government-wide information management planning

Figure 2 illustrates the interactions that take place among the Treasury Board Secretariat, institutions and common-service organizations to coordinate government-wide information management.

Among its interactions, TBS:

  • provides direction, advice and feedback to Departments and contributes to strategic plans;
  • provides coordination to Inter-departmental Fora;
  • responds to issues and acts as a liaison for TBS Branches and Central Agencies;
  • works with Industry to identify government and industry trends;
  • acts as a liaison with other governments on issues; and,
  • has a coordination role with national and international standards organizations.

In addition, interactions take place among these organizations external to their interactions with TBS.

  • National and International standards organizations cooperate with other governments;
  • Departments and common services organizations contribute to strategies and plans; and,
  • Departments cooperate with Inter-departmental Fora.
