Professional Development and Apprenticeship Program - Promotion

When a supervisor recommends promotion, the Departmental Review Committee will review the supervisor's ratings and supporting evidence to determine if all ratings are well substantiated. Please refer to the Departmental Review Committee Checklist.

If the Departmental Review Committee is satisfied with the supporting evidence, the recommendation will be accepted. The participant's home department will have first choice in offering a promotion to the participant. The names of qualified participants that are not offered promotions by their home department will be placed in an interdepartmental pool until a promotion is offered to them by their home department, or another department participating in the program. Under PDAP, promotions are to be made through a Public Service Employment Act (PSEA) non-advertised appointment process.
