Changes to the Leave Reporting System - October 2012

The purpose of this bulletin is to inform you of a requirement to report usage of management sick leave in the Leave Reporting System.

According to the provisions of the Directive on Terms and Conditions of Employment for Certain Excluded/ Unrepresented Employees, Appendix D (Group III, paragraph 5), an employee who has insufficient sick leave credits to cover the granting of sick leave with pay during the entire period of illness may be granted, at the discretion of the person with delegated authority, an advance of sick leave credits of up to one hundred and thirty (130) working days.

The following code is to be used to track and report usage as it applies to the MD-MOF-4, MD-MOF-5, MD-MSP-3 groups (Group III):

  • Code 205 – Management Sick Leave

Code 205 will be added to the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's list of mandatory Leave Reporting System codes.

Departments should ensure that their leave reporting system is amended accordingly before .
