Pay Increments for Term Employees (Full-Time and Part-Time Employees)

Date:

To: Heads of Human Resources, Directors/Chiefs of Labour Relations and Compensation

This bulletin clarifies how departments and agencies of the Core Public Administration are to determine future pay increment dates for term employees.

This is further to the collective agreements for Program and Administrative Services (PA) and Education and Library Science (EB) signed on and to the collective agreement for the Operational Services (SV) group signed on .

From the date of signing of the collective agreements going forward, pay increments are to be based on cumulative service, whether continuous or discontinuous, within the Core Public Administration. Service prior to the dates of signing does not count in calculating pay increments.

An employee appointed to a term position receives an increment after reaching fifty-two (52) weeks of cumulative service at the same occupational group and level, including service as a casual and/or term less than three months.

Questions regarding this bulletin should be directed to your Departmental Corporate Compensation Official.
