Web Standards for the Government of Canada

Welcome to the new Web standards for the Government of Canada. This website provides guidance on implementing the new Web standards and demonstrates the Government of Canada's commitment to delivering websites that are more accessible and usable.

Through collaboration with the Government's Web communities, the Common Look and Feel 2.0 (CLF 2.0) was replaced by the Standards on Web Accessibility and Web Usability. Goodbye CLF 2.0.

A New Look for Government of Canada Websites

The Standard on Web Usability mandates a basic structure for Web page layout and design elements. The basic structure for the Web page also facilitates the application of Government of Canada visual elements and identifiers. The Federal Identity Program (FIP) is responsible for prescribing the visual elements and identifiers, such as the Canada Wordmark, across all Government of Canada websites (including Web applications).
