EU-PEI-01 positions were not included in the Joint Union
Management Initiative (JUMI) study and therefore were not
included in the October 29, 1999 pay equity agreement between the
Public Service Alliance of Canada and the Treasury Board.
On Tuesday, November 21, 2000, officials of the Treasury Board Secretariat met with representatives from the Public Service Alliance of Canada to discuss a possible solution for addressing the case of EU-PEI-01 employees. It was agreed that the EU-PEI-01 employees affected by the Pay Equity Agreement should receive the same treatment as EU-LAI-01 employees for the purposes of calculating pay equity entitlements.
This bulletin constitutes the authority to proceed with the implementation of this decision. Affected departments should ensure that these pay equity accounts are processed, and that the payments are sent to affected recipients, as soon as possible.
