PCO's Strategic Outcome and Program Activity Architecture (PAA)

The highest level is the Strategic Outcome:

  1. The Government’s agenda and decision making are supported and the institutions of government are supported and maintained.

    The Strategic Outcome is supported by PCO’s five main Program Activities:

    1. Program Activity 1.1, Prime Minister and portfolio ministers’ support and advice, is supported by five Sub-activities:
      1. Issues, policies, machinery and appointments
      2. International affairs and national security
      3. Intergovernmental affairs
      4. Legislation, parliamentary issues and democratic reform
      5. Prime Minister’s and portfolio ministers’ offices
    2. Program Activity 1.2, Cabinet and Cabinet Committees' advice and support, is supported by two Sub-Activities:
      1. Operation of Cabinet committees
      2. Integration across the federal government
    3. Program Activity 1.3, Public service leadership and direction, is supported by two Sub-Activities:
      1. Renewal and human resources management of the public service
      2. Management of senior leaders
    4. Program Activity 1.4, Commissions of inquiry and,
    5. Program Activity 1.5, Internal services
