Greening Government Operations (GGO)

Targets / Strategies / Comments

The Office of the Commissioner of Lobbying (OCL) will continue to make progress towards integrating environmental performance considerations into its procurement decision-making processes.

The OCL is contributing to the protection of the environment by using green procurement standing offers whenever possible, buying sustainable forestry management certified paper, and recycling batteries and toner cartridges.

Significant efforts are made to develop employee awareness about paper consumption and greening efforts. The OCL ensures that its annual report and investigation reports are printed on recycled paper, and encourages double-sided printing of documents whenever possible, circulating documents of interest and/or making them available on a shared computer drive rather than printing multiple copies for internal distribution, and using the OCL's external and internal websites as the preferred means for public and internal distribution of information and corporate publications.
