The following image illustrates PCO's strategic outcome and five program activities in 2010-11. The five program activities work together to support PCO's strategic outcome of ensuring the Government's agenda and decision making are supported and implemented and the institutions of government are supported and maintained. Three of the five main program activities are supported by sub-activities: Five separate sub-activities (“Issues, policies, machinery and appointments”; “International affairs and national security”; “Intergovernmental affairs”; “Legislation, parliamentary issues and democratic reform”; and “Prime Minister and portfolio ministers' offices”) contribute to the first program activity of supporting and providing advice to the Prime Minister and portfolio ministers. Two sub-activities (“Operation of Cabinet committees” and “Integration across federal government”) contribute to the second program activity of supporting and advising the Cabinet and Cabinet committees. Finally, two sub-activities (“Renewal and human resources management of the public service” and “Management of senior leaders”) contribute to the third program activity of providing leadership and direction to the Public Service. There are no sub-activities for the fourth and fifth main program activities (“Commission of inquiry” and “Internal services”).
