3.2 Other Items of Interest

NRC Council Members

NRC Council Members provide strategic direction and advice to the President and monitor progress against strategic plans. The Minister of Industry can also consult the NRC Council for advice on matters affecting NRC and of importance to science and technology in Canada. It usually meets three times a year and has three standing committees: the Executive Committee, the Human Resources Committee, and the Finance Committee. The Council is chaired by the President of NRC and the other members are appointed by the Government of Canada for three-year terms. Current members are:
