Message from the Comptroller General of Canada

Welcome to the Office of the Comptroller General’s (OCG) website.

The OCG is very active in cultivating the professional financial management, internal audit and procurement, material management and real property communities across the federal public service; this website is but one element in this endeavour.

Our communities perform a vital service for Canadians. They provide oversight and direction to government-wide efforts to protect and improve the stewardship of taxpayers’ dollars and government assets, and help ensure that Canadians get the best possible return on government programs and services.

Financial management, internal audit, and the management of real property and material, investment planning, project management and procurement are exciting, growing areas of public service. They are taking on new, more strategic directions and a sharper, more vigorous approach. Through leadership and innovation, they are helping to strengthen resource management and program delivery across the federal government.

We will use this website to present our activities, reach out to and exchange ideas with the financial management and internal audit communities, and communicate to all Canadians our efforts toward strengthening governance, accountability, and management practices in the Government of Canada.
