The Information Management Division organizational structure consists of four components: Policy & Compliance, Research & Practice, Governance & Community Engagement, and Enterprise Strategies & Alignment.

Information Management in the GC is supported by an effective horizontal governance structure that ensures leadership and guidance on strategy development and supports collaboration. Subcommittees and corresponding working groups support the CIMB DG Coordinating Committee, which advises the CIMB, which in turn advises the CIO.

The Policy on Information Management is supported by two directives, each with corresponding standards and guidelines: the Directive on Information Management Roles and Responsibilities supports IM strategic planning and governance, and the Directive on Recordkeeping focuses on practices to support effective stewardship of government information resources.
