Funding for operating requirements

The Office of Infrastructure Canada will be responsible for delivering the New Building Canada Fund initiative, the renewed Gas Tax Fund, the Inuvik to Tuktoyaktuk highway along with other existing programs. These funds will cover its interim operating requirements from April to June 2014.

Funding for the construction of a new bridge for the St. Lawrence

The new bridge for the St. Lawrence is being built to replace the existing Champlain Bridge, in Montreal, Quebec, which is the busiest bridge in Canada and vital to the regional and national economies. Engineering reports have highlighted the need to replace the Champlain Bridge as soon as possible due to serious safety issues. These funds will enable the Office of Infrastructure of Canada to advance the construction of a new bridge.
