Percentages of Files and Level of Effort by Risk Level

The bar chart illustrates the breakdown of litigation files by risk level. There are three risk levels, low, moderate and high, which run along the x-axis. Each risk level has two bars to demonstrate the proportion of litigation files that fall into that category and the proportion of litigation hours devoted to each risk level. The y-axis is not visible. The percentage of files in that category is indicated above each bar, and the height of each bar is consistent with the percentage it represents—lower percentages have shorter bars whereas higher percentages are represented by higher bars.

Low risk files made up 57% of the files in 2010-11 but received only 27% of the hours.

41% of the files fell into the moderate risk category, and they received 45 %of the hours.

High risk files made up 2% of all litigation files, and received 28% of the hours.
