Department of Justice Canada Program Activity Architecture

This diagram presents the Department of Justice Canada’s Program Activity Architecture (PAA). The diagram consists of two columns, with the Strategic Outcomes at the top of each and Program Activities listed below the Strategic Outcome they support. Program Sub-activities are listed below the Program Activity they support.

The column on the left shows Strategic Outcome 1: A fair, relevant and accessible justice system that reflects Canadian values, with its two supporting Program Activities: Justice policies, laws and programs and the Office of the Federal Ombudsman for Victims of Crime. Program Activity A1: Justice policies, laws and programs, is supported by five (5) Program Sub-activities: Criminal Justice; Family Justice; Access to Justice; Aboriginal Justice; Private International and Public Law.

Strategic Outcome 2: A federal government supported by effective and responsive legal services, is in the right hand column. Below it is Program Activity B1: Services to government, which is supported by six (6) Program Sub-activities: Justice and Government at large Portfolio; Aboriginal Affairs Portfolio; Business and Regulatory Law Portfolio; Central Agencies Portfolio; Public Safety, Defence and Immigration Portfolio; Tax Law Services Portfolio.

Program Activity C1: Internal Services, runs along the bottom of the table as it supports both Strategic Outcomes. It is supported by Governance and Management Support, Resource Management Services, and Asset Management Services.
