Departmental Spending Trends

The y-axis displays spending amounts in millions of dollars from 0 to 1200. The graph consists of a group of four vertical bars per fiscal year, which represent the main estimates, the planned spending, the total authorities (authorized spending) and actual spending for that year in millions of dollars. The graph shows that there has been a steady increase in planned, authorized and actual spending.

The main estimates range from 696.3 million dollars in 2008-09, to 689.4 million in 2009-10, and to 712 million dollars in 2010-11.

Planned spending was 897 million in 2008-09, 924 million in 2009-10, and 984.2 million in 2010-11.

Total authorities were 973.7 million dollars in 2008-09, 1065.2 million in 2009-10, and 1090.4 million in 2010-11.

In 2008-09, total spending was just under 937.6 million dollars and in 2009-10, 1027.9 million dollars. In 2010-11, total spending was 1049.7 million dollars.
