Figure 2:  Average Age of Infrastructure

Figure 2 is a graph based on Statistics Canada data.  The graph shows the average age of core public infrastructure in Canada, starting from 1962 to 2010.  Core public infrastructure refers to the following asset categories: bridges, roads, water, wastewater, public transit, and cultural and recreational facilities.

The graph portrays the average of public infrastructure in Canada from 1962 to 2010.  The average age of core public infrastructure in Canada has undergone many changes over the years.  It peaked in 2001 at 17.0 years, and in 2010 it became level at 14.7 years.
