Performance Standards:
Response is to be provided within 30 days following receipt of a request.
 
The response time may be extended pursuant to Section 9 of the ATIA.
 
Notice of extension is to be provided within 30 days after receipt of the request.
 
Performance Results:
  • Of the 28 ATIP requests received in 2009–10 and carried over from 2008–09, 57.1% were completed in 2009–10.
  • The agency was able to respond within 30 days in 18.75% of the completed cases.
  • Response times for the remaining cases were:
    • 6.25% within 31–60 days
    • 37.5% within 61–120 days
    • 37.5% within 121 days or more.

Other Information:
SWC collects user fees for information requests in accordance with the ATIA. The total user fees collected in 2009–2010 represents application fees only. In 2009–10, SWC did not collect preparation, search or reproduction fees.
 
Note: According to prevailing legal opinion, where the corresponding fee introduction or most recent modification occurred prior to March 31, 2004:
  • the performance standard, if provided, may not have received parliamentary review; and
  • the performance standard, if provided, may not respect all establishment requirements under the UFA (e.g. international comparison; independent complaint address).
  • the performance result, if provided, is not legally subject to section 5.1 of the UFA regarding fee reductions for unachieved performance.
