This table presents a two-year comparison by area of management for Round 5 (2007-2008) and Round 6 (2008-2009) of the Management Accountability Framework evaluation for Statistics Canada.

Statistics Canada received an “acceptable” rating in both years in the following areas of management:
Statistics Canada received the rating “opportunity for improvement” in both years for the area of management entitled Reporting to Parliament.
Statistics Canada met or exceeded the summary rating for government departments and agencies overall in all but two areas of management: Reporting to Parliament and Internal Audit.
An upward trend was recorded in 3 areas of management from 2007-2008 to 2008-2009:
A downward trend was recorded in the area of management entitled “Information Technology Management”, which went from “strong” in 2007-2008 to “acceptable” in 2008-2009.
For the area of management entitled PMP for Executives, Statistics Canada rated “strong” in 2008-2009. This area of management was not assessed in 2007-2008.
