² The 40th GE cost $2 million more than the 39th GE (see key program 1 performance analysis). The $15 million difference is a fiscal year difference only as event costs are attributed to more than than one fiscal year.

⁴ The total cost of an election is reported across fiscal years and across Elections Canada’s key programs.  Therefore, key program 1 expenditures are less than the total cost of the 40th General Election.
