The following table lists the character entities that may be used with the ISO-8859-1 character set.

A named entity in the XHTML character-entity sequence (&name;) can be used to define a character for display by the browser. Alternatively, the numeric entity (&#nnn;) can be used to specifically define an XHTML character entity.

To ensure that documents are fully compliant with the XHTML 1.0 Strict specification and are supported by all browsers, use only the named or numeric character entities listed in the table.
