Browse by interest

We have organized all of the information on our site into the following major topics:

Find the information most important to you

Whether you are a human resources professional, a manager or a member of the general public wanting to get a feel for public service, you’ll find quick links to the most relevant content when you use the "For you" section at the right of the home page.

Navigate by organizational unit

For those who are more familiar with the way the OCHRO is organized, you can search for information by organizational unit. Start by choosing "About us" from the buttons in the left-side menu on any page. Each organizational unit is described in greater detail and links to primary responsibilities are provided.

Consult the A-Z index

From "Aboriginal " to "Workplace", the A-Z index is an ever-growing list of topics. You might also want to consult our list of tips and frequently asked questions (FAQ).

Check the “how to” guides

The “How do I…” list provides simple, brief explanations on key activities like …

  • classifying a position
  • staffing a vacancy
  • setting the linguistic profile of a position
  • advancing your career.

Here are a few other things to keep in mind

Expandable menus

Headings on topic pages (“Classification” for example) for items such as “Tools” can be expanded when they are identified by this symbol: plus symbol. Click on the symbol or the word itself and a complete listing of documents in that particular category will automatically cascade down the page. Similarly, clicking on the minus symbol symbol will contract the listing. This functionality is controlled by a “java” script; users who have such scripts disabled will only see the complete listing for each category.
