Dedicated, professional, resourceful and hard-working are only a few words to describe federal public servants. Recognizing the contributions they make to the quality of life of Canadians helps the public service instill pride in its employees and distinguish itself as an employer of choice.
Since 1992, National Public Service Week has recognized employees whose accomplishments help give Canadians a public service that is among the most respected in the world.
In addition, the Government of Canada recognizes individual excellence through the Public Service Award of Excellence and the Outstanding Achievement Award.
There are other awards that recognize the achievements of public servants. For more details see Awards for public servants, and find out how to nominate a deserving public servant.
