BUROLIS is the Government of Canada's database that contains the offices of institutions subject to the Official Languages (Communications with and Services to the Public) Regulations (the Regulations). The Regulations specify the circumstances in which an institution's office has "significant demand" for services in both official languages and cases in which the "nature of the office" justifies the provision of bilingual services.

To provide a complete list of offices, in addition to offices subject to the Regulations, Burolis includes offices required to provide their services in both official languages pursuant to a provision of the Official Languages Act (OLA).
